Medical Records Technology Schools

Advancing technology allows health care providers increased opportunities to provide efficient care to their patients. This also requires that medical office personnel be trained on medical records technology sufficiently and accurately in order to provide excellent service and care to patients.

Training Available at Medical Records Technology Schools

Medical records technology schools provide training for work in a wide range of health care settings. Coursework typically includes:

  • Anatomy and physiology
  • Computer skills

  • Health care data and standards

Medical records technology schools are usually one to two years in length and offer associate's degree programs. After completing medical records technology school, many professionals choose to earn certification as a Registered Health Information Technician or medical coder. These credentials can make applicants more attractive to employers or allow them to specialize in certain areas of health care.

Outlook for Medical Records Technology Careers
